Deploy the app
What a team member needs
A seat, the app, and nothing else. The app needs no configuration: people sign in with their work Microsoft or Google account, and RingSync finds the directories they are entitled to from their email.
Check that the people you are targeting hold a seat: assigned to the RingSync enterprise application in Entra ID, or in the seat scope for Google Workspace. Otherwise the app tells them no directory was shared with them. See Connect Entra ID.
In the dashboard, each directory's Deploy the app page gathers the link, the QR code and a message ready to send.
By link or QR code
Share https://ringsync.io/app: on an iPhone it opens the App Store, on an Android phone Google Play, and on a computer a page showing both stores with a QR code to scan.
It is the only link to share — in an email, on the intranet, on a poster. It does not change.
Then each person:
- installs the app and opens it;
- signs in with their work Microsoft or Google account;
- allows access to contacts — the directory appears in the phone's Contacts app.
Through your MDM
Deploy RingSync like any public store app, as required, to the same group that has access to RingSync in your directory. There is no managed configuration to push.
| iOS | Android | |
|---|---|---|
| Name in the stores | RingSync | RingSync |
| Identifier | com.quadranova.RingSync | com.quadranova.RingSync |
Microsoft Intune
- Intune → Apps → iOS/iPadOS → Add → iOS store app → search for RingSync.
- Apps → Android → Add → Managed Google Play app → search for RingSync, approve it, then sync.
- For each: Assignments → Required → the group assigned to the RingSync enterprise application in Entra ID.
Google Workspace (endpoint management)
Admin console → Devices → Mobile & endpoints → Apps → Web and mobile apps → Add app → search for RingSync on the App Store and on Google Play, then assign it to the organizational units or groups concerned.
Jamf, Workspace ONE, Kandji and others
Add the app from the public store with the identifier com.quadranova.RingSync and assign it to the group concerned.
Neither iOS nor Android lets an MDM grant contacts access on the user's behalf. Tell your teams: on first launch, they need to accept.
Installed in the work profile, the app writes the contacts there. For the caller's name to show from the personal side too, allow searching work contacts from the personal profile in your work profile restrictions (Intune: Search work contacts and display work contact caller-ID in personal profile).
Following adoption
Each directory's Users page shows who has already signed in to the app. Nudge the others with the same link.
